AKF #03: Fondjoy The Batman 2022
Review
Once again, I’m back with another Fondjoy figure. (Hmm, I’ve been way too lazy to open up those Kamen Rider boxes for photos and reviews — maybe I’ll get around to it this weekend if I’m feeling productive.). As a true Batman fan, of course this time’s figure is also Batman. Yep — Fondjoy The Batman 2022. Its price is a bit higher than the Tactical Suit version, roughly about $5 more.
The accessories include a batarang, two grapple guns, a sticky bomb gun, an interchangeable chest armor, several interchangeable hands, a display base, an interchangeable mouthpieces, and a Robert Pattinson head sculpt. Honestly, I have to say Fondjoy really did a poor job with the head sculpt — it looks so off that I don’t even want to put it on the Batman figure.
Overall, the design of this figure is still acceptable — the color detailing is quite good, and the cape of the suit is honestly my favorite part from Fondjoy. You can really see their craftsmanship here; the cape looks well-made and fits naturally with the suit, unlike some cheaper lines where it looks awkward or poorly attached.
Alright, moving on to the drawbacks — the most critical issue is still the joints. Fondjoy managed to create a figure with great detailing and paintwork, but the joints are honestly terrible. They’re loose, even though my figure is brand new, and some spots are so stiff that I don’t even dare to move them, afraid they might snap. The wrist joints also look quite fragile.
As for the Robert Pattinson head sculpt, I couldn’t attach it — it’s way too tight and requires a lot of force, so I just decided not to swap it at all.
Yeah, Fondjoy really nailed the detailing and paintwork on their figures, but the joint system is still something they haven’t quite perfected yet. If you’re just planning to display it in a cabinet, maybe pose it once in a while for photos, then it’s definitely still worth it. As a true Batman fan who’s too broke to afford Hot Toys, I can honestly say Fondjoy is still a solid choice.
