AFK #02: Fondjoy Batman Tactical Suit

I’m a huge Batman fan, but to be honest, I’ve never really bought much Batman merch (actually, none at all until now). This is the first Batman figure I’ve ever purchased. So, why did I choose Fondjoy? Well, mainly because of the cost — Fondjoy figures are much more affordable compared to brands like Mezco or McFarlane, yet the level of detail is nearly on par with those big names.

Review

The Fondjoy Tactical Suit Batman (1/9 scale) takes inspiration from the battle-ready version of Batman in Zack Snyder’s Justice League.

First, let’s talk about the packaging. For around $25, you get an outer box that looks surprisingly premium — sturdy, solid, and featuring a well-designed cover image. On the back of the box, you can see some general information, including an overview of what’s inside and a few sample poses for display.

Inside the box, you’ll find a 1/9 scale figure, a display base, three interchangeable hands (I have no idea why Fondjoy made an odd number), two batarangs, and one bat claw. Fondjoy also included a Ben Affleck head sculpt, but they accidentally sent the Justice League suit version instead of the tactical suit, so it doesn’t quite fit.

Overall, Fondjoy did a great job with the detailing on the suit — the texture and sculpt look impressive. The cape is made of fabric instead of hard plastic, which is a nice touch. It’s also quite large, allowing it to spread out like a glider, just like in the movies.

After all that — the detailed paintwork, solid sculpt, and affordable price — the weakest point of the Fondjoy line is definitely the joints. They’re quite loose and not very flexible, which makes posing complex stances a bit risky (I’m honestly afraid they might snap if I try anything too dynamic).

But overall, if you’re just posing it in a fixed stance and displaying it in a glass cabinet, Fondjoy really nailed it. The figure looks detailed, feels premium enough, and most importantly — the price is super reasonable for a broke Batman fan like me.
